Ways To
Make Money Online
Part 1 - Sell What You Have
Even with
no "product" and no "web site", you can get paid for what
and who you know.
Making money online used to pretty much
demand that you have your own glossy web site, unique
products to sell and some marketing brains. But a new
generation of dot coms have appeared that will pay you for
who you know and what you know - without you first becoming
a web designer or a marketing guru.
These are legitimate
companies with business models that allow you to get paid
for a wide range of activities. I obviously can't vouch for
them all, but these are pre-filtered to help you in your
search.
Sell your
pictures: If you have a knack for photography and
need some cash, putting them online can make you some
money. Check out Fotolia
or Shutterstock
.
Cafepress
-
You provide your design, they'll toss it on a
T-Shirt, Hat, etc. No upfront costs. Get a free online shop
and promote your products on your website.
Like the old VuMe.com
these services will pay you something based on views or ads
your content attracts. You add original content and they
pay you based on the visitors you attract. VuMe still
faces stiff competition from other sites such as
Revver,
Blip.TV MetaCafe
and YouTube
, which continually experiment and improve
revenue-sharing models for their users.
Tutor.com
: If
you are a brainiac, you can get paid to tutor people like
me online. Help a student in Algebra, Geology, Excel or
whatever.
eBay - Come on, you
know what this is. Gather your junk and sell it! You can
stock up with winners from Craigslist, local thrift
stores or yard sales. It's physical work but it can pay
well. Some people make most of their money from shipping.
From old books to high end electronics to valuable
collectibles and antiques. It is the world's biggest
fleamarket because it works. The traffic comes to you. eBay
provides all the
tools.
Break.com
-
Upload your videos and pictures, as many as
you like, all day. If they like them and place them
on their homepage, they will pay you $400 for your
original videos (you know, snowboarding backwards off
a house onto a trampoline and breaking your arm,
etc.) and up to $2000 for short films. They also have
other random contests that pay out $50 per
picture.
Revver - You basically
upload your video to Revver and they embed ads into it.
You get 50% of what the ad makes. If any of you have been on
YouTube or other video sites, you can easily understand that
some videos, even bad ones at times, go viral and thousands
of people see it, and your ad too! You can then share the
video elsewhere too, and earn. If you want to see a
sample of this, here is a link to Revver's
'most
watched
' page.
Jigsaw - It's an unusual model but if you
have a Rolodex full of good contacts, you can sell them
here. You get paid for each person's profile that you
enter.
